Clearly for You

The 'Clearly for You' stamp set is so delicious and, with twelve stamps, the combinations go on and on. Here I have only used two of them - the small background and butterfly underneath the 'Beveled Windowpane' and again the butterfly on the embossed panel.  The embossing folder I used is 'Framed Tulips.
The greeting is from the 'Perfect Punches' set of six.
Ribbon and Linen Thread finish off the card.
All products are by Stampin'Up!

Lovely as a Tree Squash Card

This Squash Fold card incorporated 'Ribbon Stamping' on twill tape, 'Sponging', 'VersaMark Watermark Stamping' and 'Watercolour Misting' techniques.
I used one of my favourite stamp sets 'Lovely as a Tree', Cajun Craze, Basic Black & Confetti Cream cardstock, Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke & VersaMark inks.
The measurements and instructions came from the very talented Dawn Olchefske.

Acetate & Tissue

The inspiration for this card was came from Michelle Zindorf, using the 'Acetate & Tissue' technique.   It really was good, but messy, fun to make and my class members really got stuck into this one with enthusiasm.
This technique lends itself well to the 'vintage' look that I like a lot.

Second Look at Shelli's Design

This is one of Shelli Gardner's card layouts.
Shelli used different DSP and stamp set, ones we don't have yet here in New Zealand.
My card uses the 'Faux Linen' technique.

I loved the way all the elements came together and realised I could use the layout with two of my favourite stamp sets 'Sense of Time' and 'Sanded' background.  Unfortunately these sets are retiring soon - but no way am I parting with them!

A truly inspired card layout stands the test of time!

Technique Class

On the last Sunday of each month I hold a Technique Club with my 'Gorgeous Girls' Group.

The techniques we are using are available for purchase from Tania Kronberg and have Basic, Intermediate & Advanced techniques (120 in all!!).
In the first class the GGs were given their packs: Two 6" x 6" Books, Technique Lists, Instructions for 120 techniques and sample pictures for 120 techniques.
During the first class we covered one of our books (the other to be taken home for covering).
The GGs were give free reign of my craft room and came up with some beautiful book cover designs - a testament to their creativity.
Here are Mary Beuker's two books:

We also made three cards covering seven of the techniques.
Each club member takes home an information sheet detailing the stamp sets, card stock, ink & accessories used for each card and the techniques covered during the day.
These and more cover designs will be spotlighted in the days to come.

I made this card for a friend's husband who has just had a hip replacement!

The Google image perfectly matched the Stampin' Up! Baja Breeze cardstock.

The background stamp I used is from the French Foliage stamp set - I love those splodges, and the message, 'Imagine the Possibilities' is from the wonderful Word Play stamp set.

Sweet Summer

I hope you are still using your sale-a-bration stamp sets.
Unfortunately our New Zealand "Sweet Summer" has gone, and so has the stamp set, but for those of you who have it and are looking for inspiration, give this a try.

For me this card has just enough vintage appeal without being too fussy, using tone-on-tone stamping for the three background pieces and a crisp image that can so easily be achieved by using Stampin' Up's Whisper White card stock.  There really is nothing like it for achieving that professional look we all strive for.

Add Crumb Cake card stock, tearing, a smidgen of sponging, a Jumbo Eyelet and Stampin' Up! ribbon and there you have it - all thanks to Jessica Luther, Expressive Designs.

I guess my next blog should be an Autumn card before it is too late...........  Mmmmmm  "French Foliage".

Punched Posies

Posted by Picasa

I really love the Punched Posies level 2 Hostess Set in the Summer Mini Catalogue. It's a set of 8 stamps. The 4 larger stamps can be punched out with Stampin' Up!'s matching punches (not included), so the set really lives up to its name.
This very quick and simple gift tag uses
Stampin' Up! Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock. The image was stamped using Sahara Sand ink, punched out using the Scallop Circle Punch, and finished of with one of the Basic Pearls.

Better Late Than Never - Creative Challenge @ Stamp Camp

Posted by Picasa
At Jacque Pedersen's Creative Inkers Stamp Camp in Rotorua a couple of weekends ago we had a 'Creative Challenge'.  Each table was given the same cardstock and a choice of Sale-A-Bration stamp sets (they come FREE when you spend $120) to come up with a co-ordinated project.  In this and the following posts I will show you what can be achieved when you have 20 minutes to come up with an idea and produce the goods.

Elements of Style

Rich Razzleberry was not one of my favourite colours, but with tone-on-tone background stamping teamed with Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock, plus a dash of Basic Black ink, this really works for me. Credit goes to Gail Beezley whose June Card Kit of the Month instructions I purchased online.  The stamp set is "Elements of Style" and has become one of my favourites.

Dasher

I have just finished the last of my Christmas Cards.
This year I really enjoyed using 'Dasher'. He is perfect for the 'earthy' style I have come to love using Stampin' Up products.
Here I particularly like the combination of 'Crumb Cake', 'Cherry Cobbler' and 'Whisper White' cardstock, using 'Always Artichoke' Stampin' Pad for the 'Dasher' stamp and 'Medallion' background stamp.
